Introduction
If you're between the ages of 6
and 25, you might be interested in one of the Scouting sections.
Scouting offers a varied range of
activities, both indoors and out.
The purpose of these web pages is to show how we, the 48th Glasgow Scout Group, are trying to meet the aims and objectives of the Scout Association.
Along the way we will share some
of our experiences, and where ever possible pass on some
knowledge you may find helpful. You can find further details of
the aims
and methods of the Scout
movement at the Scoutbase UK website.
The 48th Glasgow Scout Group meet
in the Guide Headquarters in Clincarthill Road, Rutherglen,
Glasgow, Scotland. They meet on Friday nights between 6pm and
10pm.
The Group has a high emphasis on
outdoor activities, including archery, climbing, abseiling and
camping. Most Cub camps are indoor, while the Scouts prefer
tents.
If you would like any more details on any aspect of
the 48th Scout Group, please email me.
Over the course of the next few years, those of us involved in
Scouting will see some major changes happening in UK Scouting.
I'll try to keep you abreast of what's going on within The Movement at a National, Scottish and
Glasgow level.
